Is There Any treatment of Covid-19 disease ?

There is no specific treatment for disease caused by a totally unique corona virus. However, many of the symptoms are often treated and thus treatment supported the patient's clinical condition. Moreover, supportive take care of infected persons are often highly effective.

While some western, traditional or home remedies may provide comfort and alleviate symptoms of mild COVID-19, there aren't any medicines that are shown to prevent or cure the disease. 

WHO doesn't recommend self-medication with any medicines, including antibiotics, as a prevention or cure for COVID-19. However, there are several ongoing clinical trials of both western and traditional medicines. 

WHO is coordinating efforts to develop vaccines and medicines to prevent and treat COVID-19 and may still provide updated information as soon as research results become available.

What Are The Symptoms of Covid-19 ?

 It's AumSum Time. Symptoms of Corona virus / COVID-19. Novel corona virus or 2019-nCoV is a new strainof corona virus. 

Which was first detected in Wuhan, China inDecember 2019. The disease caused by novel corona virus isnamed as COVID-19. Fever, tiredness and dry cough are the mostcommon symptoms of COVID-19. Some infected people may also experience achesand pains. 


Nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea. Symptoms of COVID-19 are usually mild and begin gradually. Also surprisingly, some infected people. Don't even develop symptoms and don't feelunwell. It is estimated that more than 80% of people. Recover without the need of special treatment. 


But it is also estimated that 1 out of 6 peoplesuffering from COVID-19. Will become seriously ill and will developdifficulty breathing. Also, people with underlying medical problemslike. High blood pressure, heart problems or diabetesas well as older people. 


Are more likely to develop serious illness. It is advised by WHO that people with. Fever, cough and difficulty breathing shouldseek medical attention.

What Is Isolation ?

Isolation refers to separating sick people with a contagious disease from those who are not sick. Hospitals use isolation for patients who have a known infectious disease that can be spread easily to others. A person, who finds themselves ill with COVID-19, needs to isolate themselves in a specific room away from other household members. 

Household members should use a separate bedroom and even a separate bathroom if possible. It is also recommended that the ill person should eat or be fed in their room away from other household members. 

Household items such as dishes, drinking glasses, cups, eating utensils, towels, bedding, or other items should not be shared with the person infected with COVID-19. It is important to prohibit all visitors and non-essential people from being in the home.
According to the Central Shenandoah Health District, if a family member has COVID-19 symptoms and has been tested, but the results are pending, that family member should isolate as best as possible until the results are known. 
A separate bedroom and bathroom if possible, and definitely separate dishes, drinking glasses, eating utensils, towels and bedding.

A period of time when a person or animal that has or may have an infectious disease must be kept away from other people or animals

These people may are exposed to a disease and don't realize it , or they'll have the disease but don't show symptoms.

What Is Covid-19 ?

 For almost a decade, scientists chased the source of a deadly new virus through China’s tallest mountains and most isolated caverns. They finally found it here: in the bats of Shitou Cave. The virus in question was a coronavirus that caused an epidemic of severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, in 2003.

Coronaviruses are a group of viruses covered in little protein spikes that look like a crown— or "corona" in Latin. There are hundreds of known coronaviruses. Seven of them infect humans, and can cause disease. The coronavirus SARS-CoV causes SARS, MERS-CoV causes MERS, and SARS-CoV-2 causes the disease COVID-19. Of the seven human coronaviruses, four cause colds, mild, highly contagious infections of the nose and throat. Two infect the lungs, and cause much more severe illnesses.

The seventh, which causes COVID-19, has features of each: it spreads easily, but can severely impact the lungs. When an infected person coughs, droplets containing the virus spray out. The virus can infect a new person when the droplets enter their nose or mouth. Coronaviruses transmit best in enclosed spaces, where people are close together.

Cold weather keeps their delicate casingfrom drying out, enabling the virus to survive for longer between hosts, while UV exposure from sunlight may damage it. These seasonal variations matter more for established viruses. But because no one is yet immune to a new virus, it has so many potential hosts that itdoesn’t need ideal conditions to spread. In the body, the protein spikes embedin the host’s cells and fuse with them— enabling the virus to hijack the host cell’s machinery to replicate its own genes.

Coronaviruses store their genes on RNA. All viruses are either RNA viruses or DNA viruses. RNA viruses tend to be smaller, with fewer genes, meaning they infect many hosts and replicate quickly in those hosts. In general, RNA viruses don’t have a proofreading mechanism, whereas DNA viruses do. So when an RNA virus replicates, it’s much more likely to have mistakes called mutations. Many of these mutations are useless or even harmful. But some make the virus better suitedfor certain environments— like a new host species.

Epidemics often occur when a virus jumps from animals to humans. This is true of the RNA viruses that caused the Ebola, Zika, and SARS epidemics, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Once in humans, the virus still mutates— usually not enough to create a new virus, but enough to create variations, or strains, of the original one. Coronaviruses have a few key differences from most RNA viruses. They’re some of the largest, meaning they have the most genes. That creates more opportunity for harmful mutations.

To counteract this risk, coronaviruses have a unique feature: an enzyme that checks for replication errors and corrects mistakes. This makes coronaviruses much more stable, with a slower mutation rate, than other RNA viruses. While this may sound formidable, the slow mutation rate is actually a promising sign when it comes to disarming them. After an infection, our immune systems can recognize germs and destroy them more quickly if they infect us again so they don’t make us sick.

But mutations can make a virus less recognisable to our immune systems— and therefore more difficult to fight off. They can also make antiviral drugs and vaccines less effective, because they’re tailored very specifically to a virus. That’s why we need a new flu vaccine every year— the influenza virus mutates so quickly that new strains pop up constantly. The slower mutation rate of corona viruses means our immune systems, drugs, and vaccines might be able to recognise them for longer after infection, and therefore protect us better.

Still, we don’t know how long our bodies remain immune to different coronaviruses. There’s never been an approved treatment or vaccine for a coronavirus. We haven’t focused on treating the ones that cause colds, and though scientists began developing treatments for SARS and MERS, the epidemics ended before those treatments completed clinical trials.

As we continue to encroach on other animals’ habitats, some scientists say a new coronavirus jumping to humans is inevitable— but if we investigate these unknowns, it doesn’t have to be devastating.

What Is Corona Virus ?

The corona virus are amongst us all the time. We have the so-called calm corona virus which results in respiratory inflections with runny nose, and cough and sore throat, mostly during winter time.

There are some corona virus strains like the new novel corona virus which has amore severe presentation of symptoms similar to what we had in the past with SARS ll and more recently MERS-CoV virus.

This being said, it seems based on current data that the new or the novel corona virus is somewhere in the middle in terms of severity between our common corona viruses and SARS and MERS. So, from an HHS perspective, the main emphasis at this point is on screening.

We want tomake sure that no patient gets into our system without us knowing that the patient was potentially exposed to a patient with the novel corona virus ora patient with a relevant travel history.

This being said, this definition, of what we call the case definition, may change any time and what I'm telling you right now may be different later today. For most people it will not make a major differences when they get in to a hospital, it being at Hamilton health sciences or any of the other hospitals.

The screening consists of questions you're being asked when you get registered or when you're going through triage, and they will ask you whether you have a relevant travel history and whether you have any respiratory symptoms. This being said,this is not a new concept. We used to ask those questions previously as well.

But,now we do react if you would be telling us, "Oh I was in Wuhan and I have a cough at this point of time." If that's the case you would be isolated in a private room, people seeing you would be wearing gowns and masks and gloves just to make sure that if you have that virus that it wouldn't transmit.

And then you would need to get tested and we would have to wait for that result. But, as you see, that only applies to those patients who had a exposure or potential exposure to the virus.
For everyone else it's status quo, nothing would change other than the fact that you would need to respond to those questions upon admission.
